Anyone have the procedure for modification of Galil mags to fit the Yugo 5.56 M85 series?

I've read, just put a bead of weld in the fron of the mag and file to fit - others say no mods required.

Galil mags are reasonbly priced and M85 stell mags are getting harder to find.

Pre election jitters have me wanting to stock up (for the last 8 years actually )

The plastic Tapco Galil mags run fine, but have some wiggle.  The only steel Galil mag I have runs fine, with some wiggle until you get to the last round and then it jams up the gun 100% of the time.

Maybe its just the one mag I have, but thats howmine works.

The purpose of adding the weld material is to eliminate the movement of the mag when its inserted, but I couldnt induce a jam in mine, even moving the mag around.

Thank you.

The price of Galil mags makes them worthy to stockpile, even if for range mags and experimentation.

I have 4 Galil mags that fit very nice in my M85PV. Some very minor wiggle, nothing extreme though.

They just rock in like any other AK type mag. No modification needed. All feed / work well.

Thanks that is great news!!  I have a Yugo M-95A inbound and will need a few more mags for it.

Anyone know where to find inexpensive Galil maga zines?  (Or even Yugo 556 mags if they are still out there).

Numrich / Gun Parts Corp has VG-Exc Galil mags on sale right now for $10.95.  The ones I received were truly VG- Exc condition - Note These are not the beater grade.  Although in all fairness - all of my beater grade ones  from Jestice at $7.95 worked fine  but I did cleaning up and lubing.

UPDATE:  not interchangeable- at least not in my Yugo.

Just received a Zastava M-95A 556 (folding stock).

Tried both Galil and original magazines.  They are definitely different as far as the dimensions on the magazine tab.  The original tab is thicker.
