I've sent this request to a couple very well know AK-smiths twice wi no reply.  Piece of History and Two Rivers Arms.  Is this all a ridiculous request/project?

GS455

One of your customers highly recommended you for this work.  This is probably something you've done before.

•I want to return a slant-cut Zastava PAP M77 receiver to its original square back.  It has M76 wood on it now but looks a bit like it's "sagging" with that cut-out missing.  Of all the options I’ve looked at online this techniques seems to be pretty sound and in the realm of what I’m looking for.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGiUgdTZ2SY .  I am open to other options/ techniques.

•Front hand-guard needs shimming.

•It has an M70 pistol grip now but I can get an ironwood YUGO #1PG grip for it and send it to you for color matching to existing wood.

•I’d also like to add a threaded cleaning rod to the package but I don’t know if this would require exchange of the FSB and inclusion of the band behind it  that the rod goes through. May not be worth the trouble.  I may or may not want to go this far and parts may not be available.  I read some other fellow took another cleaning rod, cut and threaded it and it looks great.

•Oh and I’d like to scrub that ridiculous etching warning the user to consult the owners manual before use - LOL

I know you're typically backed up.  Is this something you can knock out?  Approximate cost and turn around  time?

Sounds reasonable to me. I'd give at least a week, and then resend the email. Those guys are pretty busy

Edit. Try the old fashioned way. Telephone. Might have faster contact.

If for some reason neither of those work out, here's another very good AK smith to consider:  http://www.arizonaresponsesystems.com/

Matt Yeamans?  Very good AK smith with a lot of welding experience.  Last I checked he didn't do any refinishing, so you would be on your own on that part.
