I picked this one up off of a fellow arfcom member listed on the AK Equipment Exchange.  It had a bit of tacticool stuff on it that I didn't get but came with the M76 stock which I like due to the straight comb.  Put a Yugo sling on it and some BLO on the handguards to match the stock and I'm good now.  Just got to get out and shoot it.  Earl

Looks great. Needs a better grip and FH.

Thanks.  I like slant brakes...have others but I like them.  Do agree on the grip though.  Earl

BLO finish looks good on the wood, much better than the glossy wood finishes I see on some rifles.

A M76 pistol grip (wood) would really complete the look.

I've tried a couple aftermarket FHs on my opap as well and nothing did anything that the slant brake did not.

I love my OPAP as well. I have the manticore triangle stock and it feels great.

I think it looks great as-is.  Wood especially.

I was really impressed with my Opap.  The metal finish and overall quality of the rifle is outstanding.  It is a very nice rifle as good as or better than other rifles I have that cost twice as much.

Really torn.  Got a converted saiga and a local store has a opap for 569 plus tax.   Had a look at it and the metal was a little rough and the wood,  well needed some work.   Am I a crazy snob for not jumping on it? I thought my next buy would be a 20 inch say 308 or 223.  Talk me out of it.

opap vs wasr10, whats the consensus?

Looks great...

my only beef with them is that the grenade launcher feature is gone and so is the bayonet lugs.

Let me know how you like shooting it with the M76 stock.

These are built off the M70B3 , which does not have the grenade launcher FGB.

Monkey I hope you got that Opap.  $569 is a great price, wood is easy to fix, unsure what metal problems you saw.

All the O and N-PAP rifles I looked at where much higher quality/finish than any Wasr I've seen

I thought about refinishing the wood on my O-PAP but after seeing the OP's I decided to just rub it down with linseed oil.

I like it!  I almost got me a M76 pistol grip for mine...was too slow though.  Guess I need to break down and get an Ironwood M76 style grip for it.  Earl

Hate to resurrect this thread, but what is the purpose of that bump on the bottom of the M76 stock?

Ronin's Grips makes an awesome US version of a Yugo style pistol grip.
