Hi all! I'm new to the forums, and thought I'd seek some informed opinions and advice. It's tax season, so I've decided to dress up my NPAP. The hand guards that came with it were of the black polymer variety, and I found them to be pretty terrible. I ended up having to cut them off because they became fused to the rifle, and right now I have the wooden furniture from a friend's OPAP on the gun. I'm looking to put a set of UTG Yugo quad rails on it instead. Also probably getting something along the lines of a Tapco short vertical grip. Does anybody know of any other reasonably priced quad rails that will fit on an NPAP? Is there anything I should look out for as far as UTG knockoffs? For that matter, what is the barrel width of the NPAP, is it the same as a non-yugo ak? I'm pretty sure the OPAP has a wider barrel than most AK's but I'm not sure about the NPAP. I also welcome any advice on optics (in fact pretty much any advice at all), as my NPAP came with the siderail mounting bracket installed, and I don't want to get an optic just to have my rifle beat it to pieces.
