I just purchased 2 new Serbian PAP-AKs with the fixed wooden stocks. I was hoping to have 1 of these rifles converted to a folding stock version, but it appears that the folding stock will cover a portion of the serial number. I know that messing with the serial number is a big "No-Go," but could a skilled builder modified the rivit holes on the left-side for the rear folding stock trunnion AND keep the stock solid and fully functioning, without touching the serial number?

Also, is there a difference between a Yugoslavian/Serbian and the Polish folding stock?? If so, what are they?? Currently, I'm not able to locate a true Yugo/Serb folding stock, but I have a Polish(?) one with the folding stock-rear trunnion in my spare parts bin... I'm not 100% sure if the folding stock trunnion is Polish or Romanian, but I bought both items from APEX about 2 months ago.

Last question, I'm also thinking about swappining out the PAP's gas blocks and the frontsight assemblies with the more "military correct" gas blocks w/the grenade sights and the frontsight assembly w/the flip-up night sights from my earlier, Century made Yugo AKs that were built on U.S. made receviers. I figure that this shouldn't be an issue, as long as the barrels are the same sizes and true copies of the original Yugo design.

My goal is to have 2 Yugo/Serb "military correct" AKs to go with my Romanian SAR1/SAR2, Bulgarian SLR-105/106, Russian SGL-21/31 and fixed and folding stock Hungarian SA-85M pre-ban rifles to finish up my AK collection.

The last pre-ban Mitchel Arms and/or American Arms Yugo AKs I've seen in my area were going for around $1,700.00 to $1,900.00 per rifle... Since I'm not a rich guy or willing to touch my retirement savings, going the piece mill route works best for me. Plus, the older, U.S. receivered, Yugo rifles will also be sold off once I'm done with this project to buy more AK magazines and ammo.

Thanks for looking!!
