Well I am not really an AK guy but I am trying to be. I am trading a guy for an M70AB2 built on a Nodak spud receiver. This is a Century build. The gun is beautiful and unfired. Comes with two metal mags and a UTG quad rail. I am on my phone so I can not post the pictures that he sent me. I am just wondering what this gun is worth. I really like it but I think I might be getting the short end of this deal. Thank you so much for any and all information.

P.S. I did search but due to the ever changing prices and supply of these guns I don't feel that anything I read accurately explains my situation.

google: Century M70AB2

Lots of hits.

NIB $575.00 on GA not too long ago.

Having been built by Century, good luck....

Yes but the new Century guns do not use the Nodak Spuds receiver. Of course he claims the gun is worth a whole lot of money but I am not sure. He also claims it to be way better than the "crap" they are now putting out since it is an older gun built on a better receiver.

Inspect it before you do the deal. Look for FSB cant, rear sight base cant, fucked up rivets, and heavily pitted (under the parkerizing) parts.

Is there a way to tell it if it really a Nodak receiver? So this gun is low $500ish? I have a pretty pricy gun that he wants and I am just trying to not get screwed. Thank you both for your help and time replying to this thread.

With older Century AB2s, the receiver will either be NDS/DCI (very likely) or Global (far less likely). In either case, it will say so on the left side of the receiver. $550-ish for a nice Century AB2 in today's market.

All of the older Century AB2s have the 1.6mm receiver and the really early rifles came from Century with surplus wood handguards and Yugo pistol grip.
A 9mm might expand to .45, but a .45 will never shrink to 9mm.

I agree $550ish sounds fair to me....

The NODAK/DCI receivers were properly heat treated at all the critical points and are considered to be among the best US made receivers out there...

My AB2 is also built on a Global M&T receiver. Seem to be good receivers, never heard a single complaint directed at them but there are few of them out there.

Other than the receiver source, they are identical to the DCI rifles. Very few rifles built using the Global receiver as far as I know. To the best of my knowledge, Century only did one small production run utilizing them.

I have a DCI as well. (Minnesota) and I love the thing. It is a century build and it works like a champ. Never had a jam. It is a great rifle.
