I will be uploading it to my YouTube channel as soon as I can. For those of you who have not seen my other refinish video series, you can see it here: My YouTube Channel For now, here are 3 pictures of the finished rifle. Let me know what you think!

Looks good. I like the look of the natural wood color (no stain) on Yugos, but that's just my personal preference.

This, however, was the ugly CAI standard ironwood stock set that came with the rifle. It was nowhere near as nice as what surplus wood looks like. It needed stain. |

Beat the crap out of the wood with steel chain. Use different size chain links to get different size impacts on the wood. I match new handguards to old stocks on 1903's this way and its very realistic.
Then scrub the hell out of the entire rifle with well oiled Scotch-brite pads. Nothing beats an AK with a well worn finish. ![]() |

Fluer mags were made for a short time by the Bosniacs to celebrate their (short lived) independance before the war started. I got that one from a former Bosnian soldier now in the US. I also have a couple of bakelite mags that where used in hostilities there and modified with Muslim trench art (Bosnians are primarily Muslim), one has notches carved into it.
I love that M72. I got it as a blued kit from Apex 4-5 years ago. All number matching (including the stock) except the barrel, and complete. The barrel is virtually brand new. The rifle must have been re-arsenaled and then put into storage before it was eventually de-milled and shipped over here. I built it on a blued receiver and then aged the receiver to match. Blued AK's are just amazing to look at... It has shot sub two-inch groups off the bi-pod at 100 yards. |

A CA friend of mine was attached to the Iraqi Police, and he issued them as many RPK as he could find. After some training, he said his guys were deadly. |
