So we've had this gun for a while. Actually bought it as is (for those who are so against doing anything to an SKS), never understand half of the markings...especially the stamp on the barrel until I was put on that it was an Israeli Capture SKS a year or so back....so its got that going for it. Scope has since been removed since I took this pic. Also as the picture suggests, it prefers Hornady rounds over the russian steelies for some reason.

Here's my Chinese SKS I bought from a  LGS in June 2015, still covered in cosmoline when I got it. All matching except for the Magazine. Imported by B West  Tucson. This is my favorite gun to take out to the desert for a fun day of shooting.

Refinished the stock. ( stripped off the old finish and sprayed on some red mahogany trans tint followed by two applications of Pine tar then 4 applications of Tom's 1/3 mix gun stock wax. )

Rubber butt pad added to extend the LOP.

Love that red, it's badass.

When I got this one it had a fiber force stock and was missing the ten round magazine.  I bought a used stock and refinished it with leather dye and boiled linseed oil.  Put a new ten round magazine on it. It's Chinese

'54 Tula.
I actually considered attempting to strip the paint from the carrier, just to make it look more like what I'm used to, but my first instinct is "not broke, don't fix."

Good, it's a clean Soviet refurb, leave it that way.  You'll thank me in 30 years

Okay, here are some pictures of my SKS. It has the Chinese National Security Forces markings and was missing some items when my dad gave it to me. I refinished it and found all of the correct parts. I also added a bi-pod and a butt pad to extend the stock about an inch. Now it fits me well.

Boyonet extended
bayonet closed

Just a Zastava M59/66A1. I wanted one since I was a kid seeing it in the Shotgun News ads but always put it off till I got a good deal on this one. All parts matching and apparently unissued. I had to refinish the wood due to cosmoline damage.

Saved this one from a stupid ATI side folding stock. Still need the bayonet parts but then it's complete I guess. Maybe I'll rub another coat of boiled linseed oil on it in a few months.  (I refinished the wood) It's already getting darker than when I did it... I want to say I did it this spring? I'd have to check to see.

I'll pitch in with a Chinese SKS I got, beat to heck but shoots great.  I don't have a full picture of it because I forgot to get one before I jammed it back in the safe, but I did get pictures of the stock because it's got some trench carvings on it that I can't seem to figure out and I wanted to ask you all about.  On one side of the stock there's what looks to be "E. PAZAJ" punched in with dots which I'm guessing is the guy who got this gun originally.  According to my Iranian friend Pazaj is a Persian/Iranian last name, so I'm guessing E. is the first initial.  This Chinese gun ended up in the hands of someone in the middle east, interesting story behind it I'm sure.

The other side of the gun confuses me though, it looks like it says "Faik Bici" but Google Translate is of no help with this and my friend didn't get it either.  Google Translate CAN get "Faik Bic" (without the last i) which is apparently Hindi for "Sell out".  I don't think this is it because of that last i there, but I almost kinda wish it was though.  Getting a rifle from someone labeled a sellout somewhere, THAT would make a hell of a story.  As I'm sure some of you have said, if only guns could talk...

Would any of you happen to know what this would mean?  Thanks in advance!

Would you post a closer picture of the bayonet cut in the stock? I think mine came with the spike bayonet but I'm not sure. I eventually want to find the parts and put it back on. The "lug" if you will is still on the barrel but that's it.

It's just the standard straight cut for a blade bayonet. I don't believe any of the Yugoslavian SKS' came with spike bayonets.

Never posted my SKS here before. 1979 factory /26\. Aside from a couple of scuffs in the stock it looked new and unissued when I bought it in the mid-90's for the princely sum of $110.

This thread reminds me of the 2 SKS rifles I had and stupidly sold.

A Chinese spiker that was a perfect shooter and a yugo 59/66 in a dumb synthetic stock that wasn't.

My new toy from buds recent surplus sks sale.  I think it cleaned up pretty nice for $400.  I love how the stock turned out after a light sand and coating of boiled linseed oil.

Probably a lot of the same pics that are in this thread but figured it was good to add for future reference.
