So I'll start this one off with my own.

Bolt side up showing her rich dark red chinese wood.

Yes, my choice in backgrounds leaves something to be desired, however it's all I had with me.

Wow Krink. I don't think we'll ever see anymore of the N.Korean, Vietnamese, or paperworked bringbacks.

Unless some enterprising importer got these classified as C&R and brought them in from a friendly country...

Also interested in how those scopes work.  I've seen a few different setups in the CDNN catalogs, but have been leary of trying them.

I'm not sure how Weasel's work, but I had one of those mounts and they just don't hold zero good enough for my taste.   Eventually, it shifts....and you have to rezero.  I even had one crack near the front from recoil and hitting the reciever.

Guys/gals, ......SKS's are best left unscoped.  Everyone thinks it will work, many have tried, many are satisfied with minute of pie plate/garbagecanlid  accuracy; I wasn't and realize now an SKS is best left iron sighted, in it's wood stock, with it's original magazine.  It is what it is, a great rifle.

Just don't.  Leave them the way they should be.

Here are my SKS's,  they are both Norinco.   The top one with the dark stock is my Dads.  The bottom one with the blonde stock is mine.   Does anyone have any idea how much the bottom blonde one is worth?  It is preban and has all matching serial numbers, milled reciever and custom stock.

Probally around $200 for the blonde, if it is an original stock. Never seen one with that type stock original.

Both are just repainted wooden Yugo stocks. The stocks were getting a bit tatty, so we gussied them up.

These are cheap reciever mounts, so realistically speaking if you use them, you should set expectations low. They do tend to lose zero, thanks to the reciever shifting, screws loosening, et cetera.... or they did until we nailed them with lock-tite. Now they hold just fine after a couple of range trips, and since the recievers are on pretty firmly on our guns, that's not a big issue. The irons work just fine, and if nothing else it's like having a wee spotting scope to correct fire at ranges you can't see the hole in the paper otherwise.

Consider that it is a $15 mount for a $25 scope on a $120 rifle with a $6 camo job. There are better mounting solutions available (scout mount on the gas block, frex), but if the gun is your "fun gun", it's good.
