We demand details on ALL of them! From the stripper clip guides they are all standard 10rd non detach mag guns.

The one at top-siderail scope? Info, and more pics!

The two middle ones have SKS tech sites.

The one at bottom is stock...

From the stripper clip guides they are all standard 10rd non detach mag guns.

Actually, no.

From the top:

- Standard Chinese.  Someone (not me) added a Mosin Nagant PU type mount and a crappy set of rings and a scope.  I kept the mount and tried out PU type rings.  They mount fine, but I haven't had it to the range with this setup.

- Standard Chinese in a Ramline stock w/Techsights.  I had it out with wood on it and regular sights before, shot pretty well.  Haven't been out with it since I've worked on it.

- Chinese "Paratrooper".  It didn't come to me with a bayonet lug and I don't know if someone besides the importer ground it off.  I'm fine with that because it makes it easier to handle.  The Techsights really help with this one, giving it a peep sight as well as longer sight radius.  I haven't put it on paper that much, but it does well on the 200 yard gong.  Here's a comparison for size with a SAR3.

- SKS-M that uses AK magazines, monte carlo type stock which I hate almost as much as the thumbhole type.  The grip is much too large for my hands, and the length of pull is too long to be comfortable for me either.  I sanded down the parts I didn't like but I haven't refinished it yet.

I've had two others but they are either gone or going.  One is a K-Sports import that was parkerized gray and fitted with a Butler Creek OD green synthetic stock.  A picture of the same thing is on the Simonov.net page.  It had the detachable when I found it.

Also had an absolutely beautiful Russian 1952 Tula that now has a new home.  I had mixed feelings about dumping this one instead of ALL my Chinese.  Oh well.

That's all I've got.  I have an Egyptian FN-49 on the way that, if it works well, will probably replace all but one of the SKSs.

yugo, tapco stuff, sksman compliance stuff.

Took it apart and recleaned everything, and it works great now.  Quite pleased.

My SKS and Makarov. Started as an unissued 1989 model with Tritium night sights. I've done trigger work (Wolff hammer & sear springs, polished, notched sear), Murray's spring loaded firing pin and Blackjack recoil buffer. Added a Tech-sights target post in place of the standard front sight. I will be adding a Williams peep rear and Choate receiver mounted scope mount for a PSOP scope (4x).  Also, running the Tapco 20 round mags (very impressed, no problems after a case of Golden Tiger). The SKS will do 3-4 " groups at 100 yds. The Makarov has had the sear and trigger polished and a Wolff 19 lb recoil spring installed. Even +P ammo is a pleasure to shoot.

Here's mine.  Just got the stock refinished... I ruined the original finish by accident and had to redo it.

And bye cleaning rod (can't keep it in it's place w/o Bayonet). Original leather sling probably made out of cookies, since it fell apart in crumbles when I got it.

I have no idea what the deal with the  three "000"s is, but the cross and firesteels are part of the Serbian Coat of Arms en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coat_of_arms_of_Serbia

From Wikipedia: They are commonly associated with the slogan Samo sloga Srbina spasava ("Only unity saves Serbs").

Finally got some time to shoot some pics of them.

1. Russian SKS. This is one of the later ones without the date stamped on the receiver cover. It does have the serial number factory stamped in it and it matches the rest of the rifle. All numbers match and are factory stamped. It also has the re-arsonal mark.

2. Romanian SKS. I looked around for a long time to find a numbers matching Romy that wasn't junked. I was pretty pleased when I found this one. 1958 model.

3. Albanian SKS. I looked long and hard for this one as well. All matching numbers and in beautiful condition. 1977 model.

4. Norinco SKS. Nothing real special about it. Just a clean numbers match factory 26 Norinco.

5. Yugo 59/66. Numbers match, unissued. U prefix.

The  7" scope from TACTEDGE CQB red/green dot.
you can find these items at LEAPERS.com, look for distributors links for availability.

Chinese SKS...  Just starting to modify it.

Man, you should really put that thing back to the way you found it, assuming it had all original parts when you go it.

Anyway, here's mine:

In order from top to bottom:

1954 Tula
Chinese 1980 /26\
Chinese 1980 /26\ (yes, I have two)
Chinese /326\

Another of the many Yugos.  Just cleaned out the gas port and piston.
This sucker has more recoil than I expected.
The local CMP guys have me shooting in their matches even tho after reading the CMP rules I found the SKS to be illegal for CMP
