Hey guys, so i've had this little Norinco SKS Paratrooper for about 12 years, but can't seem to find any codes on it that help me identify it. I see stampings of "93" "53" and "34" but its only the numerals and they are stamped singularly with no design. Other then that all I have on it is the SN which you can see in the picture. Any ideas?

"34" on barrel and again on receiver, then just SN

"NORINCO SKS 7.62X39 CHINA / KSI POMONA CA" and then "93" and "53" stamped upside down

here you can see that on the right side there are zero stampings


P.S. Bolt has 23xxx stamped on it if that helps.

Is this just a super early model?

This is just my opinion but it looks like an early model that was rearsenaled then had the barrel chopped.  Is the right side of the receiver where the arsenal markings would be smooth or does it feel uneven like its been ground down?

It's very smooth on all sides, I can't find any traces of removed markings anywhere.

Could be a those SkS that was rearsenaled and chopped. I have a standard size SMS with a 5 digit serial and no factory code

Paratroopers were built exclusively for export to American market, they used alot of older rifles initially and than from scratch pinned barrel ones.

You can find any vintage of recvr on ones using salvaged recvrs or straight chopped Type 56. I've seen Sino, Letter series and early .
