Who can tell me about the SKS that some people call the Paratrooper model?  I bought one years ago not knowing that there weren't many of them around.  It looks and shoots great.  It does not have a bayonet attached....should it?   Thanks for any info you can provide.

I believe they were imported in the 1990's.
Since the market was full of inexpensive SKS rifles at the time, some were shortened (to 16" barrel) and called "paratrooper" to increase sales.

They came in both fixed magazine and the model that takes AK magazines.

Usually made by Norinco.
