tapcoed rifles are over a bundant and always worth LESS than what you have in them. Expect 225-275 offers.

It's all over the place in Louisville. As low as $275, then up to $475, and this is for your basic SKS.

listed is one thing.. but what do they actually sell for? - Also are we talking SKS or tapcoed sks?

Any way -  Local markets fluctuate; i usually go by the country's market avg - $275 is on the high side for a tapco rifle. Unless you restore it to its orginal configuration; sell of the tapco stuff for usually 75% or less of whats it worth (that stuff is every where and not in high demand).

Usually it goes like this with regards to SKS in un-tapcoed condition:

Chinese Albanians can be had for 250-275

Unissued Yugos m59/66 - 350-375

Russian Refurbs 400+

Russian Non Refurbs 550+

Chinese COmmerical 300+

Albanian 400+

Romanian 400 +

Tapcoed anything without any original parts preserved/reserved - 250-275 on the high.

Now you may get lucky and get into a bidding war and hit 350.. but don't hold you breath.

Example: Two exact same rifles.. one tapcoed to mars.. another all original.

Usually an unmolested example will go 100-150+ over that of a tapcoed rifle.

Its the reason i always URGE caution when folks consider going down the tapco route . You will never get back what you have in it.. and if you loose the original parts you are hurting the rifles value.

Lets compare this to the world of cars.

Take some $2900 9 year old ricer , add $1000 of some crappy wheels and some $800 raidio . Then cry because you can't sell it for $4000

The whole is never worth the sum of the parts .

Sorry guy but any time you put custom stuff on anything you have to look at it as being something you enjoy while you yourself owns and uses it , never is it an investment

I should probably count myself lucky I got it for dirt cheap (Too low to advertise!). Only reason I added Tapco was that it already had a POS poly folder on it that'd been bubba'd (mangled) when it was put on. If it'd been all original I probably wouldn't have touched it. I should probably just shut up and be happy to get $350-$375 if I'm lucky.

I gladly paid $319 last month for a Chinese type 56 if that helps at all.

Return the rifle to stock SKS and sell the Tapco accessories separate. You'll get more return that way.
