THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT That is the same place I bought my first Chi-Com AK back in the 80s while on vacation. In fact Norinco Tokerov clones, AKs, and SKSs of all flavors and cases upon cases of ammo was all he had in his store front. It was a sight to see. This SKS is matching (to a point) but all that is serialed is the receiver, bolt, carrier, and stock. The top cover, TG, and magazine are unmarked. Whoo was it filthy. I don't think it had ever been cleaned. No harm, no foul as it cleaned up just fine. It has a bit of a odd sling on it that I had never seen before. I thought maybe it was incomplete but it seems to have been made that way.

The sling looks to be a leather tabbed version of the coil spring type sling I found on Yooper John's site. He claims they were used on sub-guns as well as SKSs. I guess that would explain the length difference and long tag end.
http://www.yooperj.com/SKS-20.htm Sort of aggervating on a SKS.

Wow. I keep seeing guns people get at garage sales. The closest thing I've ever seen at a garage sale is an ammo can! Very nice rifle!

Damn, that's about what I paid for my chicom KFS import back around '88. A Chinese cop gun of some sort, per the receiver stampings.
Sold it. Still kicking myself, and all that. ![]() |
