If it's a 59/66 it's overpriced. If it's a Model 59 in the condition you describe....Maybe.

All matching 59/66 is worth $350ish at best. Just picked up one for $275.

For an M59/66, it's high. Here's data: GunStockMarket Yugo M59/66 SKS price data.
If it is an M59, you're in the ballpark, again here's data: GunStockMarket Yugo M59 price data. The M59 model is much more infrequently encountered than the M59/66. |

All numbers matching, stock in perfect condition (minus a very tiny scratch), bayonet, sling & cleaning rod. The only thing that wasn't included was the buttstock cleaning kit. After a good cleaning I've taken it to the range 3 times so far and put through 600 or so cheap steel case ammo. Zero failures, jams, eject or extraction problems. Accurate to the point of exceeding my own abilities and an absolute joy. $449 is really on the expensive side, but expect to pay $350 out the door in these market conditions. Hopefully you can luck out on gun broker or some other place. But the savings won't be beyong $50-75 imho. Good luck... |

I would agree with others here, 400+ is pricey, even if it has all matching numbers. And in unissued condition.

That depends on which state you live in, like most firearms they vary from state to state. The market has been demanding top notch cosmetically unissued 59/66's when it comes to Cherry's Imports. They import the highest quality cosmetically unissued Yugos out of any importer. A local gun store near me started out at $225 about 6 years ago, they now demand $425 for the same rifle and they sell bunches of them since they stacked em deep back in 2000. The market speaks for itself and you are not finding dealers offering cosmetically unissued Cherry's Imports anymore online. Like every surplus gun, when they are only being sold on the private market and no more are being imported then the price will increase. |

The one I bought still had the serial # penciled on the stock. Now if it's unissued and still in cosmo then I would agree it may be worth $400 tops instead of $350. |

I just picked up a "used" Zastava M59/66 apparently unfired with cosmoline still everywhere including the bore. For $219 at Cabelas. Saw it. Grabbed it. Appears perfect. I was shocked at the price. Sales guys kept commenting how cheap that price was, I agreed. Apparently just put out today, was not there yesterday. The SMLE No 1 MK III I was coming for was gone. Impulse buy, but why not, wife was getting on my nerves needed some retail happiness. How'd I do? |
