My buddy wanted me to build him a krink and his only two stipulations were that it had to be 5.45 and cheap. Well, seven months later after scrounging forums and Gunbroker for the cheapest priced parts and waiting on his stamp, she's done:

Cheap and krink do not belong in the same sentence...at least not anymore...why didn't I buy 5 kits when they were $200 a piece??? Argh!

ETA: Is that wood refinished?? Looks great!

Well I was able to keep it all under $700 so it wasn't too bad. I refinished the wood and parked the gun. The handguards were a pain because they're for a milled receiver, so I had to work on the lower handguard lug so it wouldn't rattle when installed.

I need to go check my safe to see if my krink is still there.  I have one configured exactly the same way, only mine was built by Mario at Piece of HIstory.

It works really well in decreasing felt recoil but the concussion is intense and I can feel the heat on my support hand. I'm thinking about going back to the 4pc booster.

Hi there,

My grampa was in the Soviet army or something, and today I was in the attic and found this:

http://sphotos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/296099_10200708522749508_1841366746_n.jpg

No, just kidding. I used some airsoft parts on this Bulgarian Krinkov:

http://sphotos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/941569_10200708524669556_1797670726_n.jpg

I'm thinking about shooting it with the new booster. It's made out of steel, the bullet can pass through and it aligns with the barrel... What do you think?

Regards,
Simon

I find it weird how the lighting makes this look way to bright, the top and bottom pics are better representations of how dark the plum actually is

The latest addition to my collection...

It was built using a virgin Bulgarian Krink kit, NDS-2SF receiver and an original Bulgarian barrel.  I had AZEX add the Stormwerkz rail so I could mount an Aimpoint.  I also have the Bulgarian lower handguard with integrated flashlight I want to install, but I'm still trying to figure out how to modify the rear lug to fit a stamped receiver.

hi guys,

please find below some pics of my TULA AKSU in 5,45 caliber.

and after some upgrades:

very nice product as US palm, Midwest Industries, trijicon RMR and Manticore Flash-hidder.

MaxFr.....that's a nice set up with the Midwest rail. Do you intend to add a Magpul AFG2 to the bottom rail? Is you do, please snap a photo with it on.

Thanks. I've seen AFG under AKSU, but the hand guard is very short and the AFG is too long. So it s not realy usefull.
I have a AFG onto my AR15, I could set it on the AK for pics, but I think I don't let it on.

I use the Krebs offset for VFG on my AKSU.

not the best pic

I'm using the kreb's lower rail with an Ultimak gas tube rail. I get co-witness this way with the redot. All other systems I have looked at block the front site.

MaxFr, when using the Manticore NightBrake have you experienced any short-stroke issues? I really like those brakes and want one for my Krink, just worried it might not act as enough of a booster for reliable cycling. Thanks!

If your AKSU isn't functioning without a booster installed then there's something wrong with it. The booster is supposed to aid in reliability in extremely fouled and/or cold conditions.
