Got an AKSU with Tula Star marking, and I could use some insight on wether its genuine or fake. What makes me ask is that the star is tilted. Can anyone please determine its authenticity. thanks

Someone engraved that trunnion to match the gas tube and other parts without knowing that the serial number is typically longer and the components only have four digits of the full serial. Also, the kit used looks to be Bulgarian, which would explain the unmarked trunnion. Arsenal imported a bunch of kits early on that didn't have any markings on the trunnion.
ETA: Also, how do you have a full auto in Cali? Assuming that the third pin isn't fake, but then you're not supposed to have SBR's either. Are you an SOT? Just curious, not trying to call you out. |

Looks like an unmarked trunnion like my Bulgy Krink has except someone did a poor job engraving it to look like a Rusky. Looks like they engraved the gas tube as well.

He could also be involved with the movie industry in some superficial way. They get a free pass from CALDOJ. I know guys who have done T/A training for actors that were able to get them to sign off on it "for training purposes". There are also guys who do LEO training that get a pass.

Are all you guys federal agents? The guy is asking some technical questions and now this thread has turned into an indictment.
How about relax and let law enforcement do their job, if applicable, and we as a community stick to giving each other information? |

Maybe he's and SOT, maybe he doesn't live in CA any more, maybe he's in the movie prop biz, etc.

View Quote This is the number one thing that ticks me off about this website. Dudley do-rights at every step. I'm not saying some people don't do things they shouldn't, but there are a whole number of ways they could be legit FA guns. If you don't KNOW what you are talking about, ask a question, don't make a statement. You'll seem like less of a douche. The M16 is an actual Colt M16A2. I'm pretty sure he didn't make that roll mark in his shed. It seems pretty likely that was acquired via legal channels. |

Well you all scared away the OP, doubt he'll be back in his thread.

I'm pretty sure he didn't make that roll mark in his shed. It seems pretty likely that was acquired via legal channels. Given his location and lack of knowledge it's safe to assume that he's not an SOT (but he may still be). Also given his pictures of him in uniform, he's probably military. That M16A2 lower has an commando barrel attached to an A1 upper. In all my years as an armorer in the Marine Corps (and worked in Army armories), you'd never see that config in inventory. Not to mention he has it pictured next to a personal 1911. As to the AKSU's, there's a slim chance that they're military property, but since he has them pictured with parts kits, I highly doubt it. If you read from the start of the thread, we did ask. The statements came after the OP disappeared when the question was asked. Of course, they may very well be legal, but the magic 8 ball is showing "doubt it". |
