Ok, I've googled the subject and haven't come up with a positive answer on this. I have a Arsenal 106UR and my stamp will be approved next month. Does the gas port need to be unplugged on these 5.56 models or does my smith just need to cut the barrel?

I'm pretty sure it's only the 107UR that has the plugged gas port. Post pics when done!

I'm doing the same thing but bought the 8.5 krink 5.56 barrel instead of cutting down the factory one.

Troy just cut the barrel on my 5.56 106ur. Works like a champ. No gas plug or port opening needed.

Troy did mine as well. Only mine did have a plug.... Had to be opened slightly.... It must vary gun to gun I guess.
Mine runs like a champ as well. I just wish mags were cheaper! :) Tread |

ASSUME that the gas port will need to be reworked and press the block off while you still have the full-length barrel on there. if there is a little donut in there, just drill it out. if there isn't, cut and crown your barrel, and press your gas block back on. it seems the 106's were 50/50 on the restrictor. i took the chance on mine and cut and crowned - wouldn't cycle... had to press the gas block off (which is a PITA when there is no barrel left protruding) and sure enough there was the little restrictor. |

Stamp came in yesterday so it'll go off to the smith for cut and crown. Should be able to post a picture in a week or so.

Sweet! Love the Manticore brake.... Got the same one that I use on mine as well. I ended up getting 3 different brakes... The bell/cone type, the Bulgy can type, and the Manticore arms brake... Love them all.... I keep the bell/coneone on mine most of the time..... Shoot em up good now! Great looking rifle!

Very nice! Did yours come with the peep sight, or did you add it yourself?

I just got mine done as well. I am running the standard 5.45 krink booster and it won't cycle wolf ammo. Looks like I will have to get the port opened up. Accurate as hell though and hardly no recoil. Gonna be a great little Krink once she runs right.. |

I just took my Krink to the range and put 100 rounds of cheap 55 grain stuff through her. Not a single hiccup. Accuracy was fairly good at 50 yards.

I only shoot Federal XM223SP1 62gr and Gold Dot LE 64gr out of mine and its been running 100%. |

It ran the Wolf ammo with the 16" barrel. I am using the standard Krink muzzle booster. I wonder if the 4 piece booster would work better? |

BTT, Because I love it.
I love the SLR 106UR's They put out 55.GR and 62.GR faster than a 5.45 can. You have a endless variety of ammo choices. As for all the hoopla about the 104 being more effective as a SBR. I say . The 5.56 can put out a heavier projectile faster. People judge the Surplus 7N6 52 grain FMJ Ammo against standard 55.GR FMJ. I agree the 7N6 is an effective FMJ round. However 5.56 can anything 5.45 can do and better. |

Troy Sellars did mine, but he's no longer taking any work. I had some issues with him anyhow.
I've been doing a some work with John at M13 Industries Very pleased. He's going to do the work on my 107UR when the stamp makes it's way back. |

Just so I understand...you can do the Form 1, get your stamp and then ship it off to get it shortened?

Can we get a serial # range for the ones that needed opening up, and ones that
didn't? |

Maybe even better out of a short barrel... |
