Just curious as to why we can only seem to get 1986 Tula's and no other years? Did any other Russian manufacturer build krinks as well?
If it doesnt have tits a trigger or a throttle, i'm probably not interested

The lot that were bought overseas and demilled just all happened to be 86's.

Russia and Bulgaria made the AKS74U

There were other years in the past that were common. I'm sure once these 86' kits are gone, amazingly a random lot (but so random) will be found and all be dated 1984 or something.

That would be sweet, some 84 dated vented handgaurd krinks

I thought about that too. Is Tula the only Russian manufacture of krinks?

No, Izhmash made them as well.

Damn, I guess none of those have yet made it to our shores then?

They did? I thought it was only Tula. Are you sure Izhmash made them too? If so, I can see it now 4 years from now....

Izmash apparently made the really early ones, possibly just some prototypes. I don't remember exactly, but I don't think it was in any large quantities.

If you find an Izzy AKS-74U, there's a 99.99% chance it's a counterfeit.....there are grey areas in the inner workings of the Soviet arms production. To my knowledge, AKS-74Us have only been produced in the Tula plant......but I have seen an AKS-74U clone with Izzy markings on the trunion.

Izzy never mass produced the krinkov. Tula did however. 86's are the most common Russian kit's on this side of the pond. I've got a few 86's, an 85', an 83' and know where an original barrel 82' kit is.

Izhmash did make some Krinks but Tula made the vast, vast majority.

+1. But definately not in any real numbers.

As a related side note, a lot of folks may not know the Tula factory made a few AKMS (AKM rifles with the underfolding buttstock).
