My Misr S/A is pretty crooked, I lusted over it in the gunshop for almost a year before I haggard them down from $700 to $550. This was in 2007 when Romanian guns were pretty cheap, but I wanted something unique. It has proven to be fairly reliable with Ball, but it's so canted, it's really starting to bother me. Can they be straightened out? Is it worth straightening? I converted it and tracked down a crutch folder before they became available again. The crutch arm is bent slighty upwards like it was intentional, and the lock has quite a bit of play in it.

Is it worth trying to fix this thing or should I trade it off for a Draco?

My MISR's receiver is twisted.  Sighting down the frame rails one can see it twist right about where the hammer pin crosses the receiver and is noticeable when you run the bolt carrier down the rail without the top cover on.  There's nothing to be done about it, short of pulling everything off and putting parts on a new receiver.  So far, 20 years and maybe 5K rounds through it, the twist hasn't been an issue as far as function.

Where is yours canted?

I thought it was an optical illusion.  My Misr from 1999 looks to "dog leg" right slightly at the front of the dust cover.  I paid $299 for it, so I probably won't dispo it.
