I am used to Romanian ugly but,I couldn't warm up to a Misr S/A that I ran across this weekend. I have nothing to gain from the sale but, thought I'd mention it is on consignment for $600 at Sharpshooters in Lorton.  FWIW, it is the variant with turned down muzzle, plastic buttplate on laminate stock, neutered lug but, has nice HG's and the minty green sling.  Might make a good project if somebody is looking.

I have one out of state that I'm planning on cutting up and rebuilding on a CA legal receiver. I have an egyptian front gas block with bayonet lug intact and front sight post. I will have to rethread the muzzle because it's one of them with the threading taken off.
I might somehow find a way to put arabic markings on the rear sight post or buy a reproduction arabic rear sight post. I already have the stripped AK receiver that I engraved with arabic markings and parkerized.
Also bought a cheapo Romanian buttstock with hardware included and refinished it similarly to an Egyptian stock. That will replace the MISR buttstock with incorrect plastic buttplate and no cleaning kit hole.

I have one of those. Only diff is the buttstock was some kind of solid wood. Wood looks almost like the Chinese chu wood, but it has the plastic buttplate with the Egyptian markings. The rifle looks like someone tossed it down their driveway.
