I might have an opportunity to buy an Egyptian ak 47. I've never done any research on the Egyptian versions but i've seen maadis going from 500-1200. I do not know the differences in them which causes the price variation. Can someone explain what i should be looking for to make sure this is an Egyptian ak 47? Also, are all Egyptian aks considered maadis? I know i should be looking for matching numbers but anything else? Should i avoid this deal?

Thanks

Edit: I forgot to say. He is looking for 450$ for the ak 47 and 4 mags.

Can't go wrong for $450. Pics would help; the only help I can give is to make sure it's not a Chinese kit on an Egyptian receiver. If it's Chinese the front sight will be hooded, not open like regular AKs.

From the picture that im looking at, you cant tell if the front sight is hooded or not. Would it be a no go if it was chinese? For now its either this or im going to build my first AR so if this isn't a deal i will pass.

Forget about the sight hood. It's easier for us if you can just tell us the manufacturer/importer. Ideally you want it to be an ACC/INTRAC
importer MAADI. The second best choice would be a PARS INTL import. Either of these and it's a steal at $450. Century Arms are ok but the quality
is well....Century Arms. They will have "Imported by CAI, Georgia VT" stamped on the side.

Only in a fairy tale would this rifle be an original preban and say "STEYR SACAUCUS NJ" on the side. If it says this... well my friend you have stumbled on the deal
of the century and if you don't want it email me.
