Nice! Very much considering doing close to the same thing with mine, just a little different furniture. What kind of bipod is that and how did you attach it?

Thanks! It's a Harris, and mounts to the sling stud. Robinson used a sling stud like an Uncle Mike's, not the sling loop like on later import Veprs.

I like the mix of wood and polymer furniture, very FAL-ish.

Scope looks heavy as hell.

thank you- im a big fan of your rifles (in fact i was very close to buying a karsten stock cheek piece like yours). the scope is heavy as heck and weird (oddly enough, so is the handguard. you wouldnt think plastic would be that heavy but its night and day compared to the wood). the scope is going though, i cant adjust the magnification and it kind of sucks for paper punching. another funny thing is this is probably the only rifle where i didnt care one iota about weight or length of accessories.

I also have a harris bipod on it too. my hand kept kissing the back of the bipod so i attached a larue obr hand stop. theres another hole the perfect distance from the bipod- a few minutes with the dremel and some hardware from the junk drawer and voila

There are separate Saiga and VEPR threads. Start a Milled Russian and Russian AKM thread. No Saiga is not AKM, it is AK100, sort of more like an AK74.

My Saiga AK-74 with new accessories I bought recently. Hogue AK Pistol Grips and Handguards. Also vertical grip with bipod  built into it. I even bought a better California gun law "Bullet Button" to make it easier to extract the magazine.

Here is a  little Russian Shotgun porn.
The top one is an Izhmash Saiga 12 Hunter wearing the correct Russian laminate stock set.
The bottom one is a Molot Vepr 12 with a Molot vertical grip.

I started this project back in 2009. It is finally nearing completion. I just need to have some welding and miscellaneous receiver work done. It will be a late model AKM clone when complete. Originally a sporter config Saiga.

Current effort:  Kydex paddle is to make it California legal for my pre-2000 high-cap mags.  Mags with green tape are Chi-Com steel core for penetrators and the red taped mags are 8m3 Sapsan "fragtastic" 124 Ulyanovsk HPs.

Who makes that railed top cover? I can't seem to find it listed anywhere, if it holds zero, it's a pretty good idea.

Blackthorne makes it, which is Vulcan.  I had my gunsmith do a little tweak to the tab on the back of the spring guide that holds the dust cover on. It retains zero.
