I'm going to order a 5.45 sporter soon, and intend to convert to AK style rear... I'd like a folding stock setup, but I'd really rather have a left side folding stock... Doesn't seem there are too many of those available. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Done some looking around and signed up at the saiga-12 forum. Found that the ACE side folding stock should be the ticket. Found a vendor that has pretty much all the parts I'll need, and gives a 5% discount with a code he posted on the saiga forum. Since his prices are pretty much where I'd expect 'em, I'll throw him some business and get a discount while I'm at it!

I've used ACE internal conversion blocks on both my folding-stock conversions (S12 and 7.62). They both fold to the left. Pretty sure I can just rotate the pivot block 180 if I want them to fold to the right instead.

Yeah, I did some looking around at the Saiga forum and found a couple vendors... found the blocks that bolt right in to the Saiga receiver. Should make for a very nice clean install.

I'm going to leave the front end, but would like to end up getting an Ultimak rail to mount a dot on. Too bad the IronDot isn't available from LaRue anymore...

Here's my latest conversion. Still lacks welding, refinish, and bullet guide.

not very happy about how this turned out...

rivets aren't as flush as I would like either. I will probably replace these.

I hate to beat a dead horse but.........if I don't want the "military" look on my SLR-95 I dont need a bottom tang do I?
I have an EMA Tactical AK tube and saw grip coming for mine.
I should be ok. Right?

For those that are looking for a matching paint to hit the receiver with after removing the Clinton Trigger Plate... look no further than the $6 can of Duplicolor Low Gloss Engine Enamel.

It's a perfect match in person and under a camera flash.. only way I can tell is because there is a ridge where the paint met the tape.

Are these things parkerized under that paint? Because I dislike the glossy finish, park looks better IMO.

Nope they are bare steel and the paint chips like any other paint would. Whenever I get around to getting my holes welded up I'm going to get it park'd and cerakoted.

My just completed Saiga 12 conversion. Ordered the Tapco folder because it was quick and cheap. Will definitely be changing up soon. Edit: Updated pic to new foreend as well. Now to find a cheapish reflex that can handle the 12ga round.
