I loathe the modified safety lever on my VEPR12 shotgun, with the sharp protruding ambedexterous sheet-metal tabs.  What are the options for removing these?

1.  Can I simply replace the entire saftety lever with a milspec AK safety lever.
2.  Can these adhoc levers be removed from the main lever and if so does it require spacer washers to take up the thickness of the removed levers?
3.  The last option would be to cut them off, but that's a last resort.

Thanks.

Yes it can be replaced with an AK safety with a bit of modification.

Im going to do the same thing on my Vepr 12, i hate the factory safety.
