I completed my conversion but was wondering if there is a easy way to attach the cleaning rod tot he rifle like the AKM?
The rod that came with the rifle seems too long to fit down the barrel.
Also I have a handguard retainer installed and it seems designed for the cleaning rod.
The gas block and front sight does not have slots for the rod.
What rod do I use and will I need to change out the gas block  and sight?
Is it worth the effort in getting a cleaning rod installed?

for my tutorial on how to replace the barrel components with 100 series type. I see you're from Kalifornia though, so that may be a no go for you.

1. You need a correct length cleaning rod. Actual AK cleaning rods are shorter than the Saiga rod as you figured out.
2. You need an AKM or an AK74 FSB installed. The Cleaning rod will not hold in place with the standard Saiga FSB because it has no tab keep it from sliding out while firing.

I think it's going to be more money and work just to get a cleaning rod on the rifle. Not worth it right now but maybe in the near future. Appreciate the help.
