Is it going to be any harder carrying other mags for other weapons, food, water, medical supplies, and various other necessities? How is it expensive to feed? I can shoot anything through mine, including 100 rd. Wallyworld specials. If you don't want it, sell it. With the word 'ban' being thrown around so much these days, I wouldn't sell anything. It will be worth more than its weight in gold before long.

Do you hunt? My converted S12 is primarily a hunting gun, it sits in the safe a good part of the year until Fall rolls around and then it earns it's keep. It's a bird slayer.

Part of my bug-out gear are two converted S12's. I have all manner of specialized ammo which you sure aren't going to find in any other weapons arsenal. The S12 can't be beat for in close or out to 250-300 yards with available ammo in 12ga. Double O buck is great for use on close in multiple targets. The various slugs available are too numerous to mention. Most rounds will take out a vehicle no problem. Aftermarket 12ga stuff out there will take down just about anyone or anything. Some will shoot flechettes, steel ball bearings, one is even called Dragons Breath, ( you know, burn them out ), exploding rounds, etc. I say keep the S12 and throw away (sell) something else. If you are a urbanite the 12 in double ought will do fine from 0 to 100-125 yards. Slugs are even better farther out. A good solid slug will go through any engine block! Try that with your .223.
If you think it is too costly do your own reloading. Have fun and be a one man army! |

I think the S12 is not so much useful past 150yrds. Slug drop, spread with buck loads is about 50yrds with flight control wad. Its a lot of firepower but not a rifle. I have one that been a range toy but, never a trusted friend.

thought about this myself, I bought a converted one, and it jammed on low brass everytime.. Yes I know, buy high brass expensive 12 ga. ammo.. but my thoughts were this... My Remington 11-87 Police tactical runs everything through it every time with no jams, no big mags to carry, and fumble with trying to lock in "something I never could get right.. the shell kept me from hitting it in just right" not to mention that in some situations, you might not be able to be picky on what 12ga ammo you run across.
So I let mine go and run my 11-87 and Benneli super 90 with great results. If I were getting a new one.. the FN tactical automatic shot gun would probably be the one I would put the $$$ out for |

If you're getting offers for $1,200, and you don't even really want your S12............I think you should sell it. No question.
I'm getting ready to put mine up for sale, and if someone offered me that kinda $$ for it, I would gladly sell it to them. |
