Is it true that the 27 in. barreled VEPR's are still slated to come in? I just returned my 23 inch version and am thinking this will be a nice upgrade.

Thanks!

They do see the 10rd 7.62x54r Vepr mags in stock.

I just looked, and they have 5.45 mags that hold 10, but I don't see 54R.

I may have to call and see if they will have the 27 inch version out soon.

I like my 23" Vepr just fine, but hell no to the 27". It's good to have the option for those who desire it however.

Yeah I looked at the mag wrong. I'm blind apparently.

I know I saw the rifle though. It was in 308 I believe.

Why not? Too long for minimal performance gain? Isn't the SVD 26 inches?

I looked at that article and if you get rid of that wood and put some polymer on there, you will have gun porn!

I received it with an FSB that looked like someone took a hammer to it. Some of the finish was also missing or scratched, mostly on the FSB, but also on the receiver. The FSB was also canted. Could have been why said hammer was used. I returned it for an exchange, but they were out of stock so I opted for a full refund.

It was unfortunate because it was a beautiful rifle besides the obvious blemishes. I also thought the VEPRs weren't supposed to have the afore-mentioned issues.

The barrel is also threaded on this particular model. Awesome!

So many VEPR variations. I'm so glad these are coming in. The integrated FSB/GB combo is cool too, and the 16" variations of the higher power calibers! Those must breathe a lot of fire.

Rifle doubles as a pole vault for crossing rivers and such.

Not sure if I see the advantage here other than awesome sight radius. The additional length means greater range, at these ranges it will need to be scoped but the inaccuracy of the AK platform most likely negates that.

Blaine, any chance you'll be bringing in the 27 in rifles in 7.62x54R?

According to a current owner the thread protector is keyed to the barrel and pressed on. Easily removed.
Hey OP was that a.308 or x54r 23" Vepr you had?

Hey Atlantic,

I think It would help if you took the picture from the back of the gun at an angle, rather than the front. -That way the perspective doesn't artificially make the barrel look so much longer than the rest of the gun. Also, I would set the front sight post back 2". It would help with the looks too. I wish they had left the triangle front sight on the import version as well. I was lucky enough to be able to get them on both my Vepr II's.

BTW: Is the dia. of the barrel really the same all the way back as it looks? Is it .615" as the 20" versions are?

Just when I was trying to convince myself that I didn't NEED more longarms unil the house is payed off....

Thanks,
-JTR
