THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I am outfitting a Vepr (RobArms) and need the shortest stock set up possible with a good cheek weld.

I am looking at the fab defense polymer extention tube and a magpul.

I need to know a few things.

1. Does the FAB polymer tube fit the commercial or milspec tube?

2. How far does the Magpul stock collapse? and if not all the way, would I be able to chop some of the back end of the polymer tube off to let the magpul collapse all the way to the receiver?

I know the bottom of the tube piece will be exposed due to the slant cut of the receiver, but I will just make a piece of metal to cover it...that is no problem.

I am primarily concerned with the length of the poly tube and the potential of the magpul to fully collapse.

I know that the lock channel at the underside of the tube only goes so far up the length of the poly tube, but I can extend the channel with some epoxy and a dowel rod or whatever to form another lock hole.

I want to chop off an inch or so of the tube, replicate one more lock hole along the underside of the poly tube...it looks like there is room (if fabricated from epoxy) for one more "lock hole", and then install the Magpul MOE buttstock FULLY COLLAPSED against the receiver...so there is only a few millimeters of poly composite (from the tube part that fits against the receiver) between the receiver and the Magpul stock.

Does this make sense?

Is this possible in theory, or is there something I am not seeing that would prevent me from accomplishing this?

I use the recoil-reducing version of that tube on my .308 Vepr. I ordered the standard version (the one you refer to), but was sent the recoil-reducing version instead by accident. Instead of going through the hassle of returning it, I just kept it. I Look at it this way, I got the more expensive recoil-reducing version for the standard version price. I like it.

I use a mil-spec Magpul MOE stock with a 3/4" riser on it and it fits tighter than sh*t. You need to find a dark thought and get pissed-off to get the MOE to move on the tube. Needless to say, there is no slop between the MOE and the Fab Defense tube. I don't mind the really tight fit, quite the opposite, I really like it. Cheek weld is very good with the riser for scope use.

When I had the Fab Defense tube and MOE stock on my Romy G, the fully collapsed length of the rifle was 34 inches even.

I also made a cover plate to cover up the slant on the receiver. It turned out really nice and I am very satisfied with it. Looks nice and neat.

I know the above is not exactly what you were looking for, but maybe some of it will be of benefit.
A 9mm might expand to .45, but a .45 will never shrink to 9mm.
Good judgement comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgement.

I appreciate it bro. Good to hear about the tight fit, that's a good thing to know..hopefully the standard version has that going for it as well.

I have noticed your posts largely are filled with good info and tend to be specific concerning the little details that "parts seekers" find relevant.

I had decided to go with the VEPR K about 6 years or so ago, when the supply was about to dry up, and missed my opportunity. I fairly recently was able to get one and have lotsa plans for this baby.
