Hey guys, I bought a new WASR-10 today from the LGS for $569.00.  Not the best price around, but I got to look the gun over and there were no problems with it at all,  The date on the label says 12/23/13 and the gun came with one metal mag and one Tapco mag.  It came with the bayonet, leather sling, tool kit, and something that I have never seen before, a metal oil can with two spouts.  It came in the old style box, not the new CIA boxes that I've seen pictures of on here.  Any idea when Century went from the WASR 10/63 to the WASR 10?  Serial number is A1-124XX-XX  RO.  I'm trying to figure out a date of manufacturer on this WASR.  Thanks all.

The date of manufacture should be on the tag wrapped around the trigger guard. In your case, I'm guessing that's where you're getting 12/23/13?

From what I've read, the newer better quality Wasr-10s began being produced in 2008. From what I remember when I read up about a Wasr I bought last year, the serial number which would read x-xxxxx-xx, the last two digits would be the year. In which case mine was x-xxxxx-12 for a 2012 model

The tag wrapped around the trigger guard says 05/01/13.  The label on the box says 12/23/13.  The serial number ends in 13.  So, I guess it was made in May of 2013.  I took the gun to the range for the first time a couple of days ago and it shot like a dream.  I love this little rifle.  Thank you guys very much for the information.
