Just received this romanian wasr and am impressed. I really thought it woulf be worse.  Best I can tell is all numbers match except for the recoil spring.

I'm going to clean it up pretty good then debating if I will redo the wood somewhat.

only part that is non matching

I cleaned mine and replaced the recoil spring which had some significant wear inside the bolt carrier.

I saved the wood just as it came and replaced it with some balkan war wood from Apex and added a condition 2 Romanian sling.  I also got two Romanian surplus mags and threw them down the driveway repeatedly.

Came out looking great.

Just got mine in and I believe all parts matched except for recoil spring just like yours.

Here is pic of mine, has 57 on both sides on the stock which I don't like too much but gives it a bit more character.

I think it came with a Polish mag which has a lot of wobble, tapco mag had least amount of wobble out of the 3 mags I tried. My friend said ((10)) mags would prolly be best in it. Prolly gonna shoot it within next couple of days

What's the honest opinion on these guns ? They worth getting since they have a "cool"  factor ? Thinking of getting one of these for my 1st ak

Bump ^ ... I pre-ordered one from Atlantic from the second batch that came in. They will ship out May 14-19. Will post pics ASAP. These rifles are to cool to let this thread die.

All matching serial numbers, 1972 trunion, no SOC sticker but there is an outline where it was.

I really love these weapons.  They are as close to a BFPU  (Battlefield Pick Up) AK as you can get. Granted, they were probably not used by "door kickers" there, but rather perimeter and entry point Ugandan contractors on the bases. They still have "history" attached to them. I get talmost the same feel when I pick it up as I do when I pick up my Inland WW2 M1 Carbine.

Best thing is it was cheaper than a new one, and I don't mind beating it up.
