I picked up a 84s a few weeks back for $900. After getting a bayonet and referencing other pictures on the internet I believe I have the wrong cleaning rod as my bayonet will not go on. Anyone know where I could find one that will work? Everything 74 rod I've found is out of stock. I found a thread from 09 I think where someone had a similar issue and said he bought one but its vague. Any help appreciated

the "correct" bayonet that came with the 84S was the "bowie" type ( see link below).  they came in either black or red, when I sold my 84S I included the black bayonet, I kept the red one, these have a channel in the handle where the cleaning rod goes into


you'll have to scour all the secondary markets to find one, ie. auction sites, WTS ad etc...... as those haven't be available in commercial venues for quite a few  decades
