Im almost 100% certain the gas tubes and carriers are the same between the two calibers.Polytech and norinco stuff is the same as well.Just made in different plants to the same specs.

Thats what I thought too. Picked up some 84S parts that should be here soon, and figured they would work for both calibers. I have only one 84S but afew 762s so it would be nice if parts were interchangeable. |

Anyone know if the trunnions are the same on the .223 vs 7.62 models?

I know the barrel journals are the same. Therefore the trunnions should be as well

The bolt body on 56S 223 cal is smaller than 7.62 bolts in diameter. So carriers are different.
