Is a converted mak90 lnib worth $775 + shipping? or would a arsenal sgl21 $814/slr107 $950 be a better buy?

Is the front end converted with the correct hooded FSB and the gas block have the correct type 3 bayonet lug?

Certainly not milled. That's for sure.

IWD furniture? If so... I'd give him $775 for it.

Think of it this way.... $775 - $160ish for the furniture if its IWD... so you are buying a MAK90 for $615.... yep, I'd buy that.

Does not appear to have a cleaning rod which would more likely not have the lugs.

Eh, I sold my first AK ever, a MAK-90 to get a SAR-1 and had no regrets. I couldn't be happy with the neutered barrel parts and it was above my ability at the time to swap those out. The SAR-1 just needed to have the barrel threaded. It's not a big deal to some, but it was like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

I later picked up an NHM-90 and converted it. I'll never part with it. I acquired quite an affinity for chinese AKs after that, they're very well built, but probably won't buy another unless it's a preban.

That's not IWD furnature, at least not the pistol grip. You'll need to watch out for 922r if it's indeed all chinese wood.

its all chinese wood. and nothing else has been done to the rifle but preban furniture added.

from what ive read about 922r, you are safe as long as you werent the one who personally added all the foreign parts and you purchased it that way.

You're basically correct; you can't have assembled the firearm in that configuration. Does inserting a magazine constitute assembly though? They would probably say it does, if they wanted to be jerks. So every time you put a mag in the gun you assemble a new weapon. After all, it has a new 922r count. I'd say it better be compliant with 922r.

Yes I know no ones ever been prosecuted for 922r, but I want to follow the law 100%.

I will probably eventually resell the original Chinese furniture and buy a ironwood stock set and use a circle 10 with US made follower/floorplate. but not right away.

Inserting a mag is not assembling a weapon. As long as you personally didn't convert the gun from thumbhole stock, to it's current configuration, it's perfectly legal to own, & you are following the law 100%. GARY N4KVE

I wouldnt do that.Keep the Chinese wood on that rifle.Value will go down considerably without the Chinese wood.
