hey guys,

im in need of some advice on which of the riveted side rails that are on the market would be as close as i can get to "correct"  for an SA-85 without removing the back rivet on the rifle itself.

thanks

I have a Kassnar 85M that I had since 1992. I too decided to have a scope side rail installed so in 1997 I took it to a gunsmith and asked him how much would he charge to install a scope side rail, He looked at my gun and said No way am I going to install a side rail on your AK, It will ruin the value. He said some day my gun will be worth thousands of dollars and he talked me out of it...........Now that's a good gunsmith.

I still have that Kassnar and is my favorite AK

I have an AKARS by parabellum armament on my tacticool p.o.s. IO Inc. AK and it's awesome.  You could either do that or a TWS dogleg without ruining your beautiful SA85.  I just use the iron sights on my Hungarians.
