THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT I do not like the handguard setup on this weapon system. Just feels jacked up and looks even more jacked up. I looked at my options and liked the MI rail the most. At around 110 and already owning a railed AK variant I decided to take a chance on the Tapco galil handguard. I could not much information on this and how it fit on the AMD. Scored one for 30 shipped in taticool fde. It initally did not fit. A utility knife and some shaved off the lower part of the front and everything snapped back together. This thing is rock solid no motion. Looks and feels better then the original config, Here is a picture with some dirty carpet in the shop. I think a different grip is in order this beast it ready for it's main duty, vacation gun/range toy.

What alterations are needed to the handguard ? Anything specific or just minor filing here and there ? Thinking of going this route myself.

Not bad. I went with the Hogue lower hand guard on mine. I still need to modify a gas tube to take the upper HG.

Finally got mine installed and couldn't be happier. Really like the way it feels ( and looks ), just waiting on the cheek piece riser and sling which will be here next week. What do you think guys ??
