yeah, I think the camouflage fairy was either having a bad day or just didn't like these particular goons. They don't look like they deserve to be wearing the best camouflage anyhow. I think they've been Punk'd by that camo fairy.

Interesting pics, one would expect that the new AR-1M's from Arsenal would have the 90 degree gasblock. These look like refurbished AK47's. Kinda like the way I have my FEG AK47 now...

Why would Serb forces use Bulgarian ak's when Serbia/Yugoslavia has one of the largest domestic arms industry? Any rational explanation?
I was thinking the same thing, but in the last pic there, one of the guys has a South African R5 as well.
Possibly just foreign military small arms familiarization. |

I'm not sure, but maybe their special forces has the ability to choose what they want to be equiped with. Of all the pictures I've seen they seem to like the milled AK and GP30 type grenade launcher. As for the South African R5 I heard they were part of shipment to another Eastern block country, maybe Estonia, that the Serbs confiscated.

Why use BU weapons? Well, that's because their K'vac factory was taken out by NATO airstrikes. I haven't a clue what they've been able to reconstitute as far as small arms production since 2000, but I surmise this is the logical explanation.
I'm not sure that the destruction caused by Nato airstrikes is the reason. For example, the M-92 kits that are going to be built into SEAK III are all brand new and post 2000 firearms. Serbia relies on cash generated by exports from its fine weapons industry so I'm sure they've been rebuilt since the war.

As far as the removal of the rear stock.... My friend says that the Iraqis that he was around don't like them. They don't usually aim their rifles anyaway, he says. They just "spray and pray.' That's the explaniation that he gave me when he sent this pic. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y208/kracken/hungarianiraq.jpg |

Love the 5.56 pics. I am so going to have to build an underforlder one on a firing line receiver.

That colombian paramilitary seems to be getting too sexual with his Arsenal. Kissing the rifle seems to be going a bit too far, in my opinion.

Man, I'd love to trade my NIB SA M-7 Carbine 90 degree gas block for one with a 45 degree. I just prefer the looks of the original slant gas block.
I've read that the 90 degree gas block was adopted because it worked better with the 5.45 caliber of the ak-74. I wonder if it adds any benefit at all to 7.62 rifles. |
I'm not sure if the 90 degree gas block has any benefit over the 45 degreee in 7.62, I heard they switched to 90 degree cause it would be cheaper to manufacture one gas block for both rifles.
Very true. In 5.45mm, the 45* block was sometimes stripping jacket materical off the bullet causing a loss in accuracy, that's one reason they went with the 90* block. Also, drilling down into the barrel at a 90* angle usually caused them to miss the lands and come in on the grooves. |

Does anyone know if the AKs being used by the ING with the 45 degree gas block and synthetic furniture have the trap door in the butt stock for the cleaning kit? Getting my SA93 re-done to look just like that but I couldn't tell by any of the photos what the rear of the butt stock looked like. Also, what do the bayonets that are being issued for these rifles, if any, look like? I hope to have pics up of the finished product in the next week or so....

Whats a type III AK-47? Also is there any way to get one of those underfolding milled 5.56 aks here in the states? The Colombian guys seemed to have a lot of them.

Was the Iraqi military not provided with marksmanship training prior to the US invasion?

Jack...good god man, get them to issue a correct sized ACH
Seconded. That thing looks like it would be really uncomfortable. Not to mention too small to protect all it should... |

I noticed that none of the Bulgy milled ING rifles had a slant brake. Has it now become passe, or was someone just too cheap to pay the extra $0.50 each for them? Anyone know if the barrels are threaded under the muzzle nut?
Yes they are. Just letting you pick the one you wont lattor on. |

not to mention the guy on the other side of the detainie lol |

(bottom 7.62 AR) Looks like those wacky 'raqi Armorers left the lower stock screw 3/4 way out and forgot to close down the retaining lever.
But hey..... it should take a lot more than that to stop one of these from going bang-bang-bang.
