I had an Aimpoint CompC3 on an Ultimak rail for a long time. it worked great. Just use a low ring and you can even do a lower 1/3 cowitness

This right here. I've got an ML3 in a burris low ring on an ultimak. Love the co-witness, and mine has never gotten hot enough to be concerned.
