Do you mean.....107CR
If so, that's an SLR-107CR, which is an SBR-ready 7.62x39 rifle that's intended to be converted to an AK-104
They are really nice and very desireable, but if you have no intent of SBR-ing it, a 107FR makes more sense.
The exception would be that you are getting a smoking good price on it.

Also
What makes these SBR ready?

A standard AK has a separate Front Site Block (FSB) and Gas Block (GB).
The CR models have them combined into one unit like the AK-102, AK-104, and AK-105.
SBR-ready means all you have to do is cut the barrel down from 415mm (16.34") to 314mm (12.36") and re-crown it. No need to remove/swap barrel components. Just get a correct muzzle device.
If the rifle has a quad rail already on it, then it may by the SLR107-66 that Kvar sold. I think it came with a Midwest Industries quad rail.

I know that's common for people to buy a 14.5" AR-15 upper and "permanently" attach a slightly longer muzzle device to make it the legal 16" barrel length, but this is not really as practical for a CR rifle.
People with a 107CR that are not ready to SBR it, but want the AK-104 look, will typically get a KR-107CR extended muzzle device that slips thread on over the barrel.

Yes, once they are properly converted, they are Bad Ass.
I've been on the fence about buying one for a while myself. I just have a twitch to convert a SAM7SF to a mid-length.

My buddy is calling it a 107CR but when he sent me the pics the front sight is not part of the gas  block. The front sight is about 3 inches in front of the gas block. Is that a CR??

Sounds like its going to be a 107-FR if the fsb and GB are separate. I own an SBR'ed 107-CR and it is a great rifle. Took me about an hour to cut/crown the day my stamp arrived. If you don't plan to do an SBR, the 107-FR would probably be a better choice anyway. The CR models were meant to be used as SBR projects and offer no advantage over the FR model unless they are cut.
