THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
it all started with the SLR-106fr that the girl gave me for Christmas 6-ish years ago. I felt that I had the perfect AK.... light, excellent cheek weld, folder for space saving, 1/7 twist, and fantastic Bulgarian build quality.

then, the next year the 107fr came out. I missed the boat on those from my local pusher, and always regretted not making it happen.

a couple years went by and I came across a fantastic deal on a NIB SLR-105r, she's a ban model, but for the price, I couldnt say no. I have the FSB parts, but am waiting on a folding stock assy before I fully de-ban it.

then, a month or so ago, I begin to see ads for SLR-107f models, new in box, and the bug is re-awakened in me. if I could only find a 107fr.... these Romanian interim guns are fantastic at filling the void, but I want a Bulgarian.

and then I find it, right here in our very own EE.... brand new, never fired, SLR-107fr. it only took 2 days to talk myself into it, but I did, and here she is...

I cant wait to get to the range.

from the top 107fr, 106fr, 105r (soon to be fr). my trifecta is complete...... for now. I like symmetry.

Nice! I just bought an SLR-107F myself.... while in the gun store I hemmed and hawed about the lack of a side rail but in the end it won me over, especially since it was NIB and came with 4 Chinese flat backs for $800 out the door. I may just swap to a triangle on mine for the look. I wish they made a side folding synthetic stock without the rail cut out.

Bulgarian > Russian, in my opinion, but then again we get Russian rifles built by Arsenal in the US so it's not really Russian.

They have all the separate parts though.

Rear Trunnion:

Rear Latch:

Front Latch:

You can take the hinge pin out of this:

Or I've seen them for sale separately on a few boards...

Enjoy!
