I am wondering if it's possible to mount one of these on a rifle with the factory pistol grip reinforcement plate. Has anyone tried it? Im wondering if it will fit, or, if the reinforcement plate could be replaced, if necessary, with the echo 93 product. Seems to me the single point plate would act as a reinforcement.

one could replace the plate already there, but it's welded and riveted in place. I have no idea if the echo will fit over it or not. There are plenty of options besides this one available to run a single point on an SLR 107.

Yes, you can use it with the reinforcement plate installed on the rifle. I had the same question a while ago and no one could answer it so I just went ahead and bought one to try. It fits just fine and the stock still folds just fine. My only complaint is that I wish the plate didn't have so much of a downward angle, but that's a personal opinion.

Got the V1, and it went right on no problem. I also went with an Ergo grip at the same time and I must say im very happy with both of these items. If youve got big hands and the normal AK grip doesnt feel right then go for a bigger grip, its a very worthwhile mod if the stock grip doesnt feel like enough grip in your hand. Some have expressed concern with the V1 version of this sling attachment point with it having too much downward angle and interfering with hand placement but its really not a problem for me, and again, big hands here. I think its the best version as its ambi and offers greater flexibility. The V1 is no bigger than it needs to be, and I find my hand slips naturally right under it and into place with no problem. Until theres a Magpul ASAP style part for the AK, this is your best option, IMHO.
