Hi, this will be real quick because I'm typing this on my phone.

Got my new SLR-106FR, batch/serial designator 'IK', and had a few failure to feed malfunctions with TulAmmo 55gr .223 FMJ. Anyone else have similar issues?

Some things to take in account:
-Bought the rifle a few weeks ago and about 300rds fired.
-100rds Fed XM193 feed and fire no problem, used circle 10 black mags.
-100rds Fed XM855 feed and fire no problem, 50 with circle 10 black mags, 50 with circle 10 smoke mags.
-99rds Tula 55gr .223 FMJ fire no problem but 3 fail to feed, used circle 10 smoke mags.

On a side note, I had one Tula round with a busted primer, so I put it aside.

I have about 500 rounds of the Tula 75 grain stuff through my SLR-106FR with zero issues. My rifle's SN# has a BD prefix.

Early on I had some issues with smoke 20's in that an extra round would strip out of the mag during cycling and cause fail to feed. This happend twice and I stopped using the smokes. Since then I have 6,000 rounds with one fail to feed using exclusively black waffles and a black beryl mag. I have used Federal & PMC 193, Federal and Remington 223 and all types of silver/brown bear and wolf mix-n-match. I would try to use just the black mags for a while to see how it does.

I had trouble with one of the black circle 10 mags, one of the feed lips was bent, or got bent during a ftf. I tried straaightening it, but it bent again. I'm going to see if k-var will take it back as it was a brand new mag... and they're not cheap.

I haven't had any trouble with smoke mags, but my smoke mages are all 20 rnd.

I'm going to order a couple Beryl mags and see how they do.

I had a FTF with a 20 round smoke.

My FR wouldn't know what to do with brass cased ammo. I've only fired steel cased.

Thanks for the input, guys. Finally made it to the range this afternoon. Fired 100rds of Federal XM193 and 100rds of Tulammo 55gr .223. Fired half and half in both smoke and black Bulgarian circle 10 mags with no hiccups. I have another 100rds of Tula to burn through next week. I'll see if any more problems come up.

Another factor that I didn't take into account could be the bolt cycling with the 55gr .223. It is a much softer shooting/recoil ammo, and maybe because it is a new gun, it wouldn't cycle correct. Well, more shooting and cleaning and maybe I just have to let the gun break in a little more.

Shot 300rds today with the black circle 10 mags. 100rds of Tula 55gr .223 and 200rds of Fed XM193. Fired mostly rapid fire and didn't have any problems.
