I was wondering if anyone has ran into any issues with the new ones that are being offered by Arsenal. I know that the ones a few years back had some issues, most of which was blamed on the mags...or so I read. So guys, how are the new ones running?

I have an older one and it hasn't given me any problems at all. I've used all the generations of the circle 10 mags.

The 5.56 is a current Arsenal of Bulgaria mil-spec and has been extensively tested.
I know it when I see it, and this motion picture is not that.

Thanks for the vid! Good to see that some what older ones run well with different mags. What all types of ammo have you ran through her?

I've only shot Wolf Military Classic .223 (55 grain) through the gun.

Right now, K-var and Atlantic Firearms has them. K-var has both the polymer stock and the metal stock versions and Atlantic has the metal stock. Supposedly there are only 500 made.

I just picked up a triangle folder version of the new batch of 106UR's. I'm hoping to shoot it this Thursday, I will report back. I believe I will be using the latest generation circle 10's as well.

Here's a quick cell phone pic!

I was going to do the same thing. Get a can for my Scar, but then I got the email from K-var that the SLR106UR was back in a limited run. Oh well, there's always next year.

Ok Ok....I give in to temptation way too easily. What seems to be the better purchase of the two URs? Poly folder or triangle? Just personal preference? Gonna get my order in today.

Help!

It's all personal preference. Some say the poly is more comfortable especially in hot or cold weather. Other say that the metal is more traditional. I purchased mine with the poly stock and I have already traded it for a metal stock. The "Krink" just didn't look right with the poly.

Atlantic has the metal version for the same price as K-var has the poly version.

Yeah, I really like the way the triangle folder looks! The cheek weld isn't terrible, plus you can add para cord or ??? to give you more height! My next step, hopefully, will be to send in the paper work for SBR'ing this baby!!

Ok, I went through two 30 round mags and the factory 5 round and I had no malfunctions! I was shooting at 200 yards and all shots were on paper, I was hitting low center...it was about a 12" group, if you can call it that a group, lol. Over all I'm pretty impressed, it's pretty loud and shoots a nice flame ball, but reliable!!

Mine isnt from the new batch, had it a year. It's gone 2500+ rounds and NEVER been cleaned. Survived several trips to the desert, riding shotgun in the Jeep, a Sonny Puzikas class and a trip to Gunsite for a carbine class. Zero malfunctions.

Ok guys, bought my SLR-106UR today, but as Atlantic was out of the metal sidefolders, I ended up with a Poly.
Here's my question. Someone wanna post a link to the parts/pieces from KVAR I'll need to do the swap if I ever decide to go with a metal folder? (I should just need the stock body correct?)

Second, anybody have issues with black vs smoke Bulgy 10 mags? Thanks! Can't wait to get some range time!! Anybody have a source on slings for these?

Thought I would move this here from another post of mine that I made last night.

I got a chance to take them all out to the range today to run 20-30 rounds through each pistol, as well as through several varieties of mags. They were all dead nuts reliable with no issues of any kind with both brass and steel cased ammo. Ammo was monarch, prvi partisan, lc green tip, brown bear, monarch steel, I think thats it. I ran polish mags, smoke 20 rd circle 10 bulgy, smoke 30 rd circle 10 bulgy, and black 30 rd circle 10 bulgy mags all with no issues. I had a galil orlite mag that ran with no issues though the fit was a little loose. Even did a quick little 10rd bump fire...Im kind of glad the other guys that were at the range when I showed up were finished and about to hit the road because I would have been showering them with casings from 25ft away!!! I was a little shocked they were getting thrown that far lol, litterally right onto the other shooting table. I was also able to get some decent accuracy from the already not stellar iron sites. Im pleased, and its going to be pure sex when I get the form 1s back in the mail and am able to throw a triangle stock into the mix. Maybe by that time I will have saved enough to get an ultimak and micro dot and be able to stretch its legs out on the 200 yard range.

One thing I did notice though on the circle 10 smoke mags is that without the metal reinforced feedlips, they would tend to bow out ever so slightly when loaded. This made it really tight in the magwell and a little difficult to seat in the magwell.

Good pointer on the transparent mags, I wondered if they would do that without the metal reinforcements. Personally I'd dedicate those to range mags...

Thanks for all the reviews and info so far fellas, keep it coming!

Got mine in this week. VERY nice. My first "krinkov" type akm, and I am very surprised how well I actually like the sight. Very light, very fast gun. It was raining it's balls off the day I picked up so tomorrow I am going to my small acreage and goof off with it. Also my first folding stock, to which is very sturdy and I liked as well.
To be honest, it sure sucks the price of these, as I cant help but think it maybe cost arsenal of Bulgaria at the most, a $100 to make. Yea, yea, I know, shipping to US, the labor to convert, employees in Las Vegas, investors - it is just I want like two more!! I want to SBR one and atleast keep one as is. I actually like the way it looks with barrel in person.

One note though, as I was cleaning with CLP as suggested, there was some of that reddish Bulgarian cosmo (pain in the A to get off, learned from a previous bulgy) on reinforcement plate under pistol grip, running the length of grip where it attaches to receiver. No prob. I thought, got the small nylon tooth brush I always use, started to scrub it out. It appears they just painted over the cosmo as the paint just came right off just where cosmo was. No biggie as it is small location that can be easily fixed but still........looks like my maadi in that area!!

Got mine in last week and put twenty rounds of Tula through it to function test. Worked like a charm. I have all the Form 1 paperwork at CLEO for sign off. Then it's off to the ATF. Finger crossed I will have the form back by Christmas.
