I bought one of these from Classic because a friend got one and it has been a fine rifle. I just got done putting 90 rounds through mine and do not have any function issues. I guess I should be grateful since I see so many people that have all kinds of troubles with this model and distributors seem to be dropping the line for falling quality.
To get on target at 100 yards I had to max out my windage on the front post to the left. After returning home I stripped the rifle and took measurements of the barrel in relation to the receiver. As near as I can tell the barrel is offset to the left in relation to the receiver by about an 1/8th of an inch. The barrel seems evenly pressed in the trunnion and the trunnion seem flush in the receiver. So I'm not sure what would be causing this offset.
Could the barrel be bent? I don't know.
I'd like to be able to have my front sight more centered in the hood but is it a huge issue? Do I take it to a smith and have him try and determine the cause and fix or do I just live with it. I know AK's are just slapped together for 3rd world county's but I know there are some out there, like my friend's, that are really good shooters and built well. Seems I wasn't as lucky.
