I keep seeing people complaining about their gas tubes rattling around and asking for advice. That advice is usually "live with it". While that's obviously an option, I have another one that anyone can do to completely eliminate a rattling gas tube. First, you'll need the gas tube tension spring from an AK-74 gas tube. These are available from K-Var or you could nab one from a Saiga gas tube that no one is using. Next, you'll place the spring on the AKSU gas tube and mark a line where it meets the bottom of the tube. This is where you'll bend the spring. Place the spring in a vice at the mark you made and bend it into an "L" shape with the concave side facing out. Now simply install the spring onto the gas tube and voila! There should now be zero rattle

very nice. Does this interfere at all with the hinge pin? I'm assuming there's enough slop that it wouldn't.
