THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I just bought a Midwest Industries quad rail for my Yugo M70. I've tried flipping the pin to release the lower hand guard for sometime now, and it just won't flip. I've tired pliers, knives, and screw drivers to no avail. Am I missing something here, or is it just a stubborn POS? HELP!!!

Without pics it's hard to tell but I have had to test or trim the handgaurd down, sometimes you can just reslot the barrel, but if I change things I like to do it to the replaceable parts like the hand guard not the barrel...

It should come off. Depending on if it was a Yugo barrel or an aftermarket rebarrel the slot may be cut in the wrong spot or not deep enough. I would try pliers or pry against the barrel(Which it sounds like you have). If for some reason it still won't come off you could drill it off and install a new one once you have the handguard/slot fit correctly. You can get a replacement one Here

This is one of the reasons God invented Vice-Grip pliers. Attach vice grips firmly to tab, tap pliers with small ball peen hammer.
