Ok, so, I've established that my rear sight base is canted, and that to fix it, I must drive out the pin holding it secure to the barrel, re-drill a new hole, and then re-pin it straight.

Here's my question: When you guys talk about re-pinning, do you just drill a hole with a certain sized bit, and then make an impromptu pin out of the shank of an equally sized drill bit?

Could this all be done in my garage with a vice and a hammer? lol

Thanks

If you are sure it's your RSB, it is an easy fix.

Drive out the old RSB pin (should be 4mm -.157"), align sight block and then drill oversize. If it is a 4mm pin, then the next available oversizes are #21 (.159"), # 20 (.161"), #19 (.166"), #18 (.169"),
11/64" (171"). You can then make a new pin out of the appropriate drill shank.

There's not going to be a lot of room to move your RSB. It's a fairly tight fit between the RSB and the trunnion ears.

I drilled out mine and used a used AR15 pin as my pin.. After cutting it down of course.

Try giving the side of the RSB a good wack with a plasic mallet, it may move enough to help, ive done 2 this way.
