[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Suggestions on a better pistol grip for my AK

I've had my AK for a while and i love it. The only real downside being the pistol grip! It's all smooth and feels way too small in my hand.

What are some of your favorite replacement grips?

I like the fat Molot/Izhmash grips because they are super comfy, but ultimately somehow always come back to the standard PG on AKs

On my SLR105 however I still have a fat laminate grip and really like it. Don't think I'll be changing it out

If you want something that looks like it belongs on an AK, there is a bakelite grip made by the Polish that is considerably thicker than all the other countries non-wood grips. I feels a lot better to me.

Other than that, the magpul grip is nice.

Wood grip - Polytech fat checkered grip, Bulgarian checkered grip

I have the Bulgarian made Arsenal RPK 210-B grip on my SLR-107FR, larger and very comfortable!

US Palm-comfortable and looks best. (To me)

Magpul-comfortable and great trigger position.

Does anyone have a line on a US Palm Grip in stock anywhere? I'm hunting one for my SLR104FR but everywhere I'm reading has them out of stock and doesn't have a return date.

I think US Palm closed their doors in April? Which sucks. I like a company that backs the AK system like they did. I haven't heard of any plans to reopen?

best bang for the buck is a Hogue, have one on my Draco pistol. Textured rubber has a nice feel without being tacky.

best grip overall IMHO is Ronin. My fav is the Big Mongo but the ARM-9 has a nice feel as well. Not cheap and usually a long wait time however.

US palm is my favorite, Magpul is second for me. I had a Hogue and a fat bulgy and didn't like them. Hearing that US Palm is closed makes me glade I bought extras.

My vote goes to the MagPul K2 or regular AK grip. I run the K2 on three of my ARs and my RPR. I ran a MOE AK grip for awhile. I went back to the regular K-VAR AK grip, which I use on all of my AKs. They are better made than the grip that came on my WASR, which felt like it had no texture to it.

I have tried a few different commie grips and the regular Magpul MOE AK grip, but for an m92 PAP SBR build I decided to try the MOE plus and it is far an away my fave grip now. The rubber overmold on it just feels fantastic. The grippiness of it plus the added girth, relative to commie grips, greatly enhances my control over the gun, especially when I need to "1 hand it".
