So picked up a used AK47.

Out of windage, front sight all the way left and still shooting left at 50 yds.

Going to send it off to an AK builder.

What will they do to fix it?

Anything we can do ourselves?

I have a vise and a hammer, lol....

The sights are probably pretty badly canted.  They will punch out the pins holding the front sight and/or rear sight base in place, move them so they are lined up right, then drill and pin them back in place.  A lot of people do it themselves... some even just hit them with a hammer without even removing the pins lol

Sounds like is some thing is misaligned. With the rifle unloaded you could look down the bbl from the muzzle end and see if anything is canted.

Sight tower appears straight.

Concerned that barrel installed misaligned.

if you don't want to drill and re-pin, just get one of these.

You should see how old school barrels are manufactured.  That is really not that far off.

Yes my son and I both shot it.

It's shooting to the left about 4 inches at 50 yds.

Front sight must be canted.

You'd be really surprised how 1 or 2 degress off can have a big impact.

Front sight or rear sight base can be canted, perhaps both. Barrel may be installed incorrectly but that's less likely.
More details about AK type could be useful in determining cause, Do tell.

Thanks nictra but we already made a deal with the folks who took over the company who built it.
