I found one on a local board.
It has a dust cover scope mount, but no side optics rail. That's contrary to the others I've seen on the net.

I've also read about some peening problems on the carrier.

What is the general consensus about these .

Seller wants 850, I'm out of touch.

It's not an OPAP. Sounds like the Gen1 PAP with top rail, and RPK receiver. Run away.

Atlantic has new N paps for $679, not an O, but a couple of hundred cheaper.

Unfortunately there are no OPAPs to be found new anywhere that I am aware of.  Even in that case that is probably $100 more than what a new OPAP would go for right now... today... which is honestly elevated by low supply and increased demand (the second part for obvious reasons).  At least in the short term prices are only going to go up and availability is going to go down.  Hopefully that won't be the case for long but nobody can predict the future market at this point between foreign war demands and our domestic political climate.

If you absolutely have to have a solid Zastava factory example which is the reason I own an OPAP... I think your best bet is to go with the NPAP.

Also, keep an eye out on the EE here and your local armslist.  I know in my area there are still people letting go of firearms for really good prices.

I have a gen 2 one its built on a 1.5mm rpk receiver  and was dead accurate and reliable right out of the box. no rear sling mount on the butt stock and barrels are not hard chromed.

And to be clear, the 1st gen PAP isn't a bad rifle, it's just kind of wonky and the single-stack bolt doesn't play well with double-stack magazines. It's the kind of gun you buy only if it's dirt cheap.

I could tell you where there is at least one NIB example....

I just stumbled across this as I was looking to post another topic.

So I'M the seller of this gun.  At no point did I refuse to provide more pictures.  I gave exactly the photo that was requested as soon as I was able.   I actually wasn't aware of the distinction between the first gen Pap and the O-pap until texashark enlightened me, I thought bulged-trunnion = Opap.  It was sold to me as an Opap, so I didn't have any reason to question that.  But I actually thanked him for the info and updated my for sale posts to reflect that information as soon as I was informed.  

While I hate scammers with a passion (I was actually coming on here to put another scammer on blast), it's important to remember that sometimes the appearance of shadiness may well be simple ignorance, as was the case with my gun.  Maybe give the benefit of the doubt when in doubt?

EDIT:  I just reviewed our PM exchange on THF, and I provided a photo of the engraving above the trigger guard in less than 3 hours from the time it was requested.  Not sure where the "refusing" part comes in as there were no other requests for photos (maybe asked another seller and got confused?) but that's kind of a shitty accusation.

Not to prolong the drama, but to clarify.

I sent an earlier request for pictures, that apparently disappeared in cyber space.
I then posted above.

I followed up with the psychsurf and he sent pictures quickly.

Psychsurf has acted honorably in all ways, and quickly changed his ad.

I would have no problems dealing with him as a seller, and regret any insinuations otherwise.
